The NeuroValue lab is pleased to welcome Aya Elhassan, who comes to us through the Youth Neurology Research Internship program. Aya’s research this summer will be focusing on gender disparities in epilepsy care.

Aya is currently studying at Wellesley College and working towards a degree in Women’s and Gender Studies. Her research experience includes serving as a Lab Assistant in the Wolfson Chemistry Laboratory at Wellesley and engaging in a biochemistry research project investigating the effect of potassium chloride on kinesin building. Given her interest in public and global health, Aya has also been a part of various community health projects at the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Greater Boston and two organizations in The Gambia; Eye Care for All and Prospect for Girls. As an aspiring public health professional and scientist, Aya looks forward to the opportunity to explore the field of Neurology and further develop their research skills.
